Do you really need a wedding Web site?

Do I really need a Wedding Website?

(If your answer is “yes,” you can build a fabulous site at a ridiculously low cost at http://www.sitepride.com/?affID=1552.)

Many engaged couples are asking themselves this question as a very popular trend snowballs through the wedding industry. Before I got engaged I certainly wouldn't have considered getting a personal website to post personal information and pictures about myself, so the idea seemed bizarre to me too.

Buddhist Weddings

Hi all! I'm new here!

My religious beliefs are Christian, and my fiancee is Wiccan. I was thinking we could have a Buddhist ceremony in Canada as a comprimise! I did not see any Buddhist offerings for weddings there. Buddhism does not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. Love is love. Has anyone else explored this possibility?

What's a best man and where did the idea come from

From the Universial Life Church Seminary newsletter:

Many centuries ago, before the women's rights movement, men who had decided upon a wife often had to forcefully take her with him (or kidnap her) if her family did not approve of him. The tradition of a "best man" probably has its origin with the Germanic Goths, when it was customary and preferable for a man to marry a woman from within his own community.

When women came into short supply "locally," eligible bachelors would have to seek out and capture a bride from a neighboring community.
